The painting is a view from the stony bank of the Route Burn, towards the end of the Routeburn Trail. The milky turquoise of the glacial meltwater shows the deeper, fast-flowing section of the river. The opposite bank is in deep shade, with big rocks emerging from the rain forest.
Now framed in white-painted oak, shelf-style.
