Standing Curlew (Etching)

Etching of a curlew in its native habitat of the marshy moorland uplands of England. The distinctive, long, downward-curving beak is clear, as is the speckled plumage, helping it to blend in with the tall grasses in the foreground. It's an aquatinted etching, the lines of the first etching clearly visible, the tones of the multi-level stopping out adding to the depth and atmosphere.
