Tree Family (Etching)

Soft view of a group of trees on a gentle, grassy slope. They looked like a family, which was what inspired me to portray them in an etching. It was on a copper plate, so the lines are very fine. I aquatinted the plate and used different layers of stopping out and etching to apply tones and bring atmosphere to the scene. There is grass in the foreground, and complex shadows over the humps and hollows of the hillside.
