Dad's Gordale Study (Etching)

£ 125.00

A dark, brooding view of the limestone cliffs at Gordale, with short grass in the foreground. The cliffs are streaked with the varied shades of wet and dry limestone, with all its fissures and ledges. A collaborative etching with my father, who has vascular dementia. I prepared the plate, Dad drew on it. I etched the plate and pulled test prints, Dad marked up the tones he wanted. I aquatinted the plate, stopped out and etched to get the tones, then pulled more test prints. Dad told me to burnish off some of the tone, so I did. Unframed prints are supplied on acid free mount board, protected by compostable wrapping. Framed prints £250 each, available direct from the artist.
